Summer also works with digital art -using the tablet as her sketchbook. Being a mom of two young children, she needed a way to sketch while being available to her children and illustrating on a tablet helped her accomplish that goal. An avid hiker of the California Coast, her family hikes and the flora she encountered became a project that inspired a solo show of Posies at the Bell Arts Factory in Ventura California in 2024.
